Sows

‘You give them seed and they multiply it’. This was one of a variation of quotes written all day by male colleagues, complimenting women and their roles at work and in society. On International Women’s Day it felt like a reproductive analogy missed the mark.

At WWF team members are often referred to as pandas in reference to our logo. ‘Should we call them sows?’ asked a female colleague in reference to women and the fact that the same word is used for female pandas and female pigs. Luckily I don’t think it caught on.

Ezekiel here kept his head down and enjoyed a boiled egg at the breakfast hosted by the sows.
