Eheu, non felix est

This is the sacrum of a young cat, froung buried at a Roman villa in Kent.
If you look at the bottom left corner, you might see that there is a flat area, unlike the projection at the bottom right of the bone. This is an area where the tail has been dislocated and has formed a misplaced joint.
I imagine some horrible little boy (puer parvus horribillis) probably picked it up by the tail when it was a kitten. Not a lucky cat, though it was probably not a painful injury, once it had healed...
