Seabirds, or not see birds?

Well, this morning was my bird group and we saw very little - we were at a local, and very exposed nature reserve. It was terribly windy and almost all the little birds were in hiding. We saw a distant kingfisher and great spotted woodpecker and lots of linnets and a couple of bull finches... and we heard white throats but didn't see them ..

In the afternoon I decided to head to Bempton because the weather forecast promised sun and cloud. Well - they were certainly right about the cloud - of course the sun didn't show itself until about 10 minutes before I needed to leave.

All the usual suspects were there - guillemots, razorbill, various gull, a few puffins, millions of gannets .. and there was much collecting of nesting material.
