Stairwell

This photo does not do justice to the amazing detail of the Stairwell Project done by Richard Wright in 2010 at the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art (Two). He was inspired by the honeysuckle design of the original circular decoration on the ceiling of the stairwell and used complex patterns of thousands of little honeysuckle petal-like shapes. It is also a sort of memorial to the generations of orphans who climbed those stairs when they lived there at the Dean Orphanage Hospital, as it then was.
