Sitting at a quiet Johnstone Station this morning as this goods train went thundering past. Was on my way to Glasgow to do some pics for Visit Scotland. Did the pix headed back to central station to discover the Johnstone trains were cancelled due to signal faults. Was in a hurry to get back send the oics and get out on the golf course for the 1st Round Richardson Cup. Arrived at Paisley where I had to get off and they were running busses to Johnstone where my car was parked. I was informed by the First Rail woman that the bus was on its way and should be here in about 25 minutes. Headed for a Taxi and an Australian gent had the same mind as he was heading for Johnstone. We shared the cab which made life a lot easier. Sent the pix out to the papers and rushed over to the Golf. Out in the last group, difficult conditions with the wet fairways, bumpy greens and the wind. Managed a 75 which was good enough to lead (75-8-67). Roll on next week for the second round. Hopefully less stressed.
