Snipe #34
We missed the barn owl at Lunt this morning as we couldn't get there early enough as we had to drop off the other car for its service and MOT at 8am.
However, we had a good walk all the way along the river Alt and around the back of the site. It was very blustery, but quite bright for most of the morning. This snipe was sat behind a few reeds for the whole time that we were at the hide. I'm sure it thought we couldn't see it, but eventually it came out and did a bit of foraging for a couple of minutes. It then re-established its position behind the 3 reeds again and put its beak under its wing, which was my cue to leave.
Thankfully the service and MOT went well and we picked up the car on the way home.
Now off to do a bit of gardening this afternoon whilst the rain stays away(I hope!)
