SWANS' NEST

The swans are building their nest on the island in the lake in the park. Last year they raised several cygnets which were gradually whittled away to one, which sadly met its demise in the winter, probably from avian flu, although it might have been revenge on behalf of the Canada geese who get mercilessly chased and attacked, along with their goslings, by the male swan.
