Inspired by a sensitive repair.
The new beading has been so skilfully matched to the original and neatly dovetailed that you would hardly know it had been done today.
My father bought this oak wardrobe at a house auction in the fifties for £11. The top and back panels were riddled with woodworm and had to be burnt but the remaining sections were treated and reassembled in our hallway.
We have been told that it was probably made in Yorkshire between 1660 and 1690. It now belongs to me.
I love it and am delighted to see its beauty respected with such a fitting repair.
