Flowering in Tandem

My Sister is making great progress with her new knee. Sadly, I am returning home tomorrow and will miss her but will be returning for day visits. She has been walking along the road every day this week, making it further each time. We passed these trees today. I know one is a Magnolia (Stellata?) but the neighbouring tree is unknown to me. I love the way they merge in together.
