Don't blow a circuit dude

It's been tough not to blow a circuit today. We set off early to Oxford and then a warning light flashed up on the dashboard. We pulled over and rang the dealership to be told they could fit us in mid April. This is what happens when a national company takes over a local family firm, grrr.

We drove to a garage that daughter J used when she lived down here and the mechanic hooked it up to the computer (at half the cost of the dealership!). He said it was definitely a fault but would probably not cause a breakdown. We couldn't risk it. The M1 is unforgiving.

So we rang a car hire company, put through from the local office to the national booking office, grrrr. Yes of course Sir we can book you a compact car to collect at 11.30. Ten minutes later the local office rang to say they didn't have any cars available, did we definitely need it for today. Erm yes, okay I'll ring round and get back to you. Twenty minutes later he rang to say no luck. As I was busy checking trains, Tony said he would cancel the non booking, when suddenly there was a car??? We were totally fed up by this point and I had trains ready to book so it was a quick consolidation of the contents of the car in to a bag and two rucksacks, in to a taxi and on to the first of three trains.

So here we are, shattered.  Big cuddles from Euan saved the day and we had great fun with his honeypot game, but before you knew it he was fast asleep so no blip of him, instead it's his robot.
