Aethon ni allan i gerdded o gwmpas mynwent Eglwys Gadeiriol Landaf. Roedd hi'n gyfle i weld y blodau yn heulwen y prynhawn - ac yn tynnu ffotograffau.

Yn y fynwent daethon ni ar draws y garreg fedd hynod hon. Mae ar fedd William Henry Norris (1939-1996) ac mae delweddau rhyfedd a diddorol arno fe.

Yn y canol yw dyn noeth (yn ôl pob tebyg y dyn ei hun) gyda'i freichiau wedi eu codi. Uwchben ei ben, rhwng ei breichiau,  yw symbol fel yr haul. Ar ei dde yw dwy wenynen, ar ei chwith yw erwydd cerdd a chlef trebl. Ar frig y garreg fedd yw symbol fel cyfnodau'r lleuad. O dan ei draed yw pobl yn galaru, ac oddi tanyn nhw yw dreigiau cydgysylltiedig. Yn olaf, ar y gwaelod, yw ei enw a'i dyddiadau, ar gefndir clymwaith Celtaidd.

Llawer o symbolau - mae'n rhaid ei fod wedi bod dyn diddorol - ond doedd e ddim esboniad o gwbl ar y bedd a dydw i ddim wedi bod yn gallu ffeindio mwy ar y we neu unrhywle arall. Eto.

We went out for a walk around Llandaff Cathedral churchyard. It was an opportunity to see the flowers in the afternoon sunshine - and take photographs.

In the cemetery we came across this remarkable tombstone. It is on the grave of William Henry Norris (1939-1996) and there are strange and interesting images on it.

In the middle is a naked man (probably the man himself) with his arms raised. Above his head, between his arms, is a symbol like the sun. On his right are two bees, on his left is a stave of music and a treble clef. At the top of the tombstone is a symbol like the phases of the moon. Under his feet are people mourning, and under them are dragons joined together. Finally, at the bottom, are his name and dates, on a Celtic knotwork background.

Lots of symbols - he must have been an interesting man - but there was no explanation at all on the grave and I haven't been able to find more on the web or anywhere else. Yet.
