In the Riad Chbanate

A long day of travelling. Got the train down to Gatwick and then flew to Marrakech, arriving shortly before sunset. Had a driver waiting at the airport to take us two-and-a-half-hours to the coastal town Essaouira and we then walked the last few yards into the Medina and the delightful Riad Chbanate.

As it was cold (not far above freezing at night), we were glad of the roaring fire in the lounge and the hot tea we got when we arrived.
