Inspired by rhubarb.

Whenever we moved house, one of the first things we did was establish a bed for rhubarb. If you feed it well with manure and water it well, you can harvest enough stems for a fruit pie long before any of the soft fruits are in season.
When I moved here, I was delighted to find this ‘crown’ growing outside my back door. I have been nurturing it for three years now so I thought I would try forcing it this year. I’ve just removed the cover to have a look. WOW! Rhubarb crumble tomorrow!
