Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another couple of visits to the back garden (for Archie) last night… I do hope that’s the last of his ‘upset tummy’. And he didn’t eat his breakfast. He was eating lots of grass, too. Which reminds me - I need to cut the grass soon.

However, he went off out very happily with Elizabeth, and they had a nice sunny, but cold day. But when they came back here, about 5.30, there were hailstones!!

We set off for lunch in town. Our favourite good value chain restaurant had a ‘Sunday roast’ with all the trimmings, for a very reasonable cost. And it was great. In fact, we started ho-ing in to it before I could get a photo.

From there we walked along George Street, JR wanted to show me a gilet in one of her favourite shops. Archie is a much better shopping companion for her - he LOVES going in to all the shops. However, we did get one, they were on sale.

When we came out of the shop, there was our bus, in stationary traffic, so we could just walk along to the nearby bus stop and hail it when it got moving again. Brilliant. But we’d missed out on a Prêt coffee, so we popped in to the Red Box on the way home.

I caught the last half hour or so of the third Women’s Six Nations, Italy v France, and this was a much closer game.

The final season of Succession starts tonight tomorrow, and although everyone in the family is vile to each other, and the language is bad, very bad, it’s compelling viewing,..

Photo by Elizabeth - you can almost SMELL the garlic!
