Turandot

My friend nudged me just as the curtain started to rise on the third act of Turnadot,
“I’m having this played at my funeral”
 
I didn’t know what to say, should I congratulate her on her foresight?
Fortunately the music started and the world most famous aria ”Nessun Dorma” began.
 We were at the Macrobert arts centre for the life streaming form the Royal Opera House.
 
But it got me thinking how many of us have already planned the music for our funerals. Very few I suspect.
 
As for Turnadot this production was stunning, everything the advance publicity had promised.  Sadly the cinema was less than half full for this iconic opera.
