Bieldside Inn

Bieldside is a rather affluent neighbourhood on the western outskirts of Aberdeen. Somewhat in keeping with the affluence of the neighbourhood this is a pub which is not really a pub.

I am sure it was a pub at some point in its history, but with each renovation the interior has become less and less pub like. It hardly even pretends to be a pub now and is more a restaurant.

It was in its incarnation as a restaurant I went there this evening. A fair walk to the nearest bus stop heading in that direction, and then ten minutes or so on the bus. I never know when to get off until I have seen the pub passing by at which point having missed the correct stop, there is a short walk back.

Despite it being more a restaurant than a pub it still has a quiz night which is a bit strange. In the restaurant area the questions can be heard, but not properly, though the cheers from those who get the answers right can be heard easily enough.

After an evening of good company and good food I took a taxi back to Aberdeen. I sometimes claim I am almost a vegetarian, not out of conviction but from choice. I must admit I do like a steak though!
