Endeavour

A busy day today as we moved from LAX airport to the Angels opening game of their season against New York this evening. In between we stopped for DimSum where the waiter waded in on the chess game between Elinor and Isaiah before we heading off the to Science museum. The main attraction was seeing the space shuttle Endeavour, now on display in its own exhibition hall. Quite impressive. Suitably named after the ship captain Cook’s famously sailed on the expedition to observe the transit of Venus in the Southern oceans, it is a triumph of function over form:- iconic if not truly beautiful. For those of a certain vintage, the name also reminds us of Inspector Morse…
Meanwhile, after a promising start, the Angels lost their half time advantage conceding 2 second half goals and eventually losing 2-1!
