A nice day. Gareth and I left late morning and drove along Essex country lanes until we arrived at Burnham-on-Crouch where after a few photos at the marina, and a bit of a stroll in the town, we found a fish and chip shack on the waterfront for a freshly cooked and tasty lunch.
Home in time for a cuppa before tutoring JJ early evening, helping him to prepare for his GCSE English Language mock exam tomorrow. A quiet and peaceful evening rounding off my day.
Burnham-on-Crouch is a town in the Maldon District of Essex. It lies on the north bank of the River Crouch. According to the Domesday Book of 1086, Burnham was held in 1066 by a thegn called Alward and 10 free men. Historically, it has benefited from its location on the coast – first as a ferry port, later as a fishing port known for its oyster beds, and most recently for yachting. (Wikipedia)
