Back Blip - First Gig in Three Plus Years!
Back Blipping - first gig in over three years tonight.
An impromptu night with friends old and new, bumped into some old friends I haven’t seen since before Covid. A brilliant band, Chopperhead, who played covers of Neil Young, The Sex Pistols, The Kinks, Judas Priest, Status Quo, The Stones and many more at The Coach and Horses.
I am a massive Rolling Stones fan so that really made me smile, especially as the band covered Dead Flowers, which is one of my favourite tracks.
The lead singer was a Yorkshireman with a lot of banter. I’ve saw them once before. My ears were ringing from sitting right down the front! The best chair I could find. I had been perched on a stool but my fibro wasn’t happy and after a table of ladies left, I decided to move.
Photos are in the extras plus one I took of a local record shop which sadly got flooded yet again in recent times.
I have paid for it for two days fibromyalgia wise but it was a lot of fun - only mistake I made was going from chair dancing to actual dancing and much as it was fun, it was fibro payback time on Sunday when I needed my walking stick and today (Monday), whole day in bed resting as much as possible.
Main Blip is of a friend, Fraser, I bumped into, he’s a thirty year old, very talented landscape artist from my adopted hometown. He’s very camera shy but I talked him into a Blip snap! He’s a good dancer too. I had to return to chair dancing by that point in the night.
The lead singer said he would play some Led Zep if I got up to dance so I accepted the challenge! Ouch…but fun. It was amazing to feel like my old self just for a night - fibromyalgia robs you of so much. Trying not to let it win. It’s a battle and a balance, I think.
Here’s a link to Fraser’s artwork on Instagram if you’re into your art like me:

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend, I am playing catch up with back Blipping ASAP :) xx
