Sun, Sea and Ice!
Hmm... after a winter of extreme temperatures, we decide to head for a 2 week holiday in... Iceland? Er...
After a delayed flight last night and arriving in London at stupid o'clock, awoke at an even stupider o'clock for a 7.15am flight to Iceland, which took about 3 hours. A cheeky wee duty free top up at Reykjavík, before car and to the Sky Lagoon, a geothermal spa on the edge of the sea. That was what we needed to wake up, or at least keep us going. Off to Thingvellir National Park where tons of history happened, and still happens, plus a wee gap between 2 tectonic plates to keep things spice. We walked down to a frozen waterfull, and back past the PM's summer home. Then squeeezed in a walk around the top of Kerid Crater, where lava spouts out.
Time to catch up on some sleep! A good day to get a taste and view of our next 2 weeks which will take on a more snowier look.
The photos are added as individual extras, 1. Sky Lagoon, 2. Mind the tectonic plate gap, 3. The Summer House, 4. Kerid Crater.
