Charles l

The new coins bearing the head of Charles lll are now beginning to circulate.  This is a silver one shilling (12 pennies) coin of his predecessor and namesake Charles l who was beheaded in 1649 after reigning for 24 years.

This is another of my metal detecting finds from about 20 years ago.
