Ringside Seats

day 13 in South Africa and 10th In Kruger saw us leave the park, we had entered up north of Hedspruit and travelled as far north in the park as we could before wending our way ever southward through the park staying in Chalets, Rondavals, Luxury Safari Tent & a couple of occaisions in our own 2 person Dome tent. Now in the South we found there was "no room at the Inn" all accommodation in the lower Camps were booked out so we left the Park and found River Cottage Guest House in Malelane, Mpumalanga. RC sits high on the bank of the Crocodile River overlooking the South Edge of the Park, Under a covered veranda we sat and watched as the Hippo's basked, grunted and squabbled in the river and as the sun went down, from across the river you could hear the odd Lion Roaring and the occaisional "Cough/bark" that we were informed were Leopards.
In the Gardens of RC we were kept amused by a group of Banded Mongoose that tore around the place like hyperactive kids and watched an African Fish Eagle swoop down and lift a huge fish out of the river.
