Clinging...

…………………………..…..to the End



The chrysalis is turning black as the caterpillar completes the metamorphosis to become a butterfly.


Earlier in the month I photographed a cosmos flower which had been chosen by this then caterpillar to spin its silk attachment ready to change into a chrysalis. 
I had my doubts that the petal would last the distance, but it looks as though I am proven wrong. 





Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s Japanese Anemone against a perfect blue sky. We had a repeat today, but with much less wind and warmer temperatures.
