Waiting for breakfast

at 06:55hrs, I've arrived at Littleport and grandson is in the car waiting for the bus to take him to Cambridge in the next 20 minutes or so and I have wandered up to the boatyard area to see if the heron will play ball as it usually flies off if it's being watched.

I was lucky this morning, it stayed still and by moving a bit I could position it against a patch of bright water.

The photo needed minimal editing, some extra clarity for the plumage and enhancement of the yellow in the heron's eye, the camera was handheld.
