Knife Angel, Guildford

This is the Knife Angel in the grounds of Guildford Cathdral. It has been there during March and moves onto Bradford on its journey around the country. It is made from 100,000 knives, confiscated from 43 police forces. It is the National Monument against aggression. W and I visited this morning. It really is fantastic and the extra shows the detail of how the knives make up the wings. We visited the cafe and shop, of course.
We then headed off to the Embroidery Gallery at Lower Sunbury. JennyM999 posted a Blip a while back about her visit there. It looked well worth it and we were not disappointed. There was a lovely walled garden and the sun shone while we walking around. We couldn't resist the cafe so had a spot of lunch there. And then onto the Embroidery Gallery. The panels were stunning and the centrepiece was amazing. It is The Sunbury Millenium Embroidery and commemorates the ancient riverside village in the year 2000. It measures three meters by one meter and comprises over 130 separate pieces of embroidery. Thank you JennyM.
