Lasagne or spaghetti?

Last autumn I planted a bulb lasagne following a plan I saw on TV (I think it was Monty Don). The bulbs are planted in different layers and are supposed to flower according to their preferred time giving 'months of spring colour'. Well mine has turned out to be more spaghetti than lasagne. There is a forest of leaves but no flowers. Well that's not quite true, there are some unopened tulips, but it's hardly the multi-course feast that I was expecting. Oh well.
