Violets

White violets growing in the hedge in the lane near our gate.  Along the lane  not too far away there is a patch of blue violets.

A Lent Lunch was held in a neighbouring village hall.  One could choose from a list of six homemade soups with bread and a small piece of cheddar cheese.  Spicy parsnip was a favourite.  There were ten of us on our table and it was so good to all be together.  The money raised was to go to victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

Later in the afternoon I went down to T and K's as it was J's second birthday.  The family celebrated with a homemade chocolate cake which he loves and of course it was soon all over his face!
