A recent addition to Dundee city centre statues. Depicting a true story from 1878 in Dundee’s history books when Burin the polar bear escaped having been brought to Dundee on a whaling ship. The figure is Mr Jamieson the Draper (clutching his roll of cloth), whose shop Bruin was reputed to have been cornered in when, according to the Courier report he became transfixed by his own reflection in a mirror!
