The Christmas Rose!

I am not an avid gardener, but I am always pleased to see this plant flower each year. It's probably the first bloom in the garden during the winter season.  I know it as a Christmas Rose and this particular plant came from my parent's garden, it was a favourite of my mother and I remember her speaking of it.  She once told me to ensure that I looked after it!

This morning is quite damp here and I think this comes through in the image.
