Deep Sea Diving

We walked to Brixham today. At least it was dry. We had our lunch in the Chart Room , a cafe that is also a bit of a maritime museum, and a nautical antique shop. Someone actually came in wanting, not tea and toast, but a brass deep sea diver’s helmet. They average about £450. There are some Titanic photos which reminded me that the cartoonist Bill Tidy recently died. One of my heroes - his autobiography is called ‘Is there any news of the iceberg?’ He based the title on his favourite cartoon, which showed people reading the list of those lost on the Titanic, while a polar bear asks: Is there any news of the iceberg?
