The measure of marbling

Enthused by some artwork by Sonia Villiers I tried my hand at marbling today.  It was fiddly, messy and the end results disappointing.  And, it took me a long time to clear up...

But, I'm already thinking about what I think I did wrong, and have mixed up another batch of floater mixture to try again tomorrow.
