La Forêt
First day at my new site, after a day of travelling with Jim and Liam. The stop off at MacDonald's for lunch was one of the best ideas we've had, especially with what came later!
So, after a good four and a half hours on the road, we arrived at La Forêt to find the courier cabin (where I will be living for the entirety of summer) in an absolute state. Now this would have been fine if it hadn't been cleaned, but some people had already come to do some montages and make the courier cabin fit for human habitation. However, mould up the walls, plant-life in the toilet, dirty plates, red mould on the surfaces and dust everywhere suggests that it hadn't really had too much done to it! Liam and I just looked at each other, sighed, and got to work trying to make it habitable. This was on a meal of fizzy sweets and beer, so although hyper and slightly tipsy...the state of it will probably still haunt me for a while! Liam, bless him, is not even going to be staying at La Forêt, instead going back to Les Sables after helping Jim with the work needing doing here. We ended up working until around midnight before both of us were happy that it could now be lived in. Even so it is not yet as clean as I would like it to be...but it is on a "it'll do" at the moment I think!
Will freely admit that this photograph is one of those emergency sunset blips. However, it is rather pretty, and rather colourful...so I'm going to say I'm allowed this once!
