Salt’s Mill, Saltaire

The journey yesterday was seamless with no hitches on the route: Edinburgh-York- Leeds-Shipley with Rosie picking us up there to drive us to her house.
Corky the dog was beside himself with delight at having 3 new friends but I imagine he’s wondering now where his beloved family are …… hopefully gay Paris by Eurostar - while he’s left with 3 strangers

After the family departed, we 3 musketeers walked into Saltaire, a Model Village built by Sir Titus Salt to house and look after his mill workers. The walk was via a picturesque but steep and slightly muddy path from the house down into Roberts Park and across the canal to the village. We had intended visiting the Mill but got embroiled in looking at several arty shops and then doing some food shopping and so with time disappearing we decided to head back home. We had been asked not to leave Corky too long on his own plus we had forgotten to leave the radio on for him!
I have to admit that the walk back deprived me of the power of speech -I am not as fit as I would like and have opted out of a hilly dog walk later on.  My task is to oversee Ewan learning to knit!
