Food for thought

Stopped to admire these colourful pots and noticed they have just been filled with a clump of daffodils and surrounding clod of earth.

I'm not sure..... Is that clever or somehow cheating...?
And is there a garden or roadside display somewhere that now has big holes dug in it?
