Phoebe Anna Traquair day

On the afternoon 29th October 2019, Mr hazelh thought that he was taking me to a guided tour of the Phoebe Anna Traquair collection at the National Museum of Scotland. In fact, he had misread the timetable of museum talks, and we turned up for a general tour instead (which was fine).

By coincidence, one of the others on the tour was the person who normally takes visitors around the the Phoebe Anna Traquair collection. When Odile heard of Mr hazelh's mistake, she took pity on us and offered to lead us on a private tour at a later date. We planned this for the end of March 2020, when my friends Helen and Sarah were coming to Edinburgh for my birthday. Of course, we had to cancel this visit at the start of the first COVID19 pandemic lockdown.

Finally we took our tour today - hurrah! However, poor Sarah was missing because the fog scuppered her travel arrangements from the Isle of Man on Wednesday. It's such a shame that she couldn't come because the tour was brilliant. We also combined it with a 2 hour visit to Mansfield Church in the morning led by guide Mel (also amazing). This gave us a full Phoebe Anna Traquair Day.

On the way back from the museum this afternoon, we showed Helen Voldemort's grave, and then took her to the Panda Bar for two rounds of cocktails.

This evening before and after our Friday curry, we played two games of Catan. I won both :-)

My blip is of the Willowwood piano held in the museum collection.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; walking (15,596 steps).
