Zoo

Checking out of my hotel just before 10:00 proved perfect timing, as the Berlin half marathon came past at about 10:10. I spotted Eilish McColgan and gave her a cheer. They had only just started, so I had time to make my way to a viewpoint near the finish. Six minutes behind the first man, Eilish was leading the women's race. She headed off to the Brandenburg Gate and a British record! See extras

Afterwards, I spent a few hours at the Berlin Zoo. It's an old fashioned zoo in some ways, but there were plenty of happy-looking residents. See extra
