Now I know it spring

This tree I pass nearly every day on the dog walk seems late this year to blossom. It was still tight buds a couple of days ago but has now started to emerge, so I made sure to walk that way this morning and check its progress.

I’ve just checked back on last year and it was full bloom on 26th March, so probably only a week or so later.

We got out in the garden with the very welcome sunshine this afternoon for a couple of hours. Cutting back, tidying and moving some pots around. The clematis is now back in a sunshine spot. Three bushes have been planted on and I’ve sown a couple of patches of poppies, and "love-in-a-mist’ - nigella damascena seeds.
Plus the first batch of "first early" potatoes. Pentland Javlin variety this year.
