To The East

On Thursday we had to divert course from heading up the East coast due to road closures, but we'd been looking forward to travelling through a different part of the country with valleys and fjords.

So after a quick jaunt up the Hverfjall Volcano Trail and to the highest point to get some photos, we headed east to Seydisfjordur where we were going to stay on Thursday. The drive down to the fjord was like many Scottish glens with a loch at the bottom, it was gorgeous in the snow and the village was very picturesque. Dinner was had then back up the road to Vok Baths, probably our last natural hot baths of the trip, these had 2 pools floating on the ice lake.

I don't know if it was the timing of the visit, 6.30pm for 2 hours, or just the location, but this was so relaxing, knowing other places were not beckoning us to visit, only the 2 hour drive back to the hotel. But I think we enjoyed this one most.

Extras of each attached. We head west tomorrow.
