Beware of trains

The window in the wall .. from Platform 8 at Waverley

A travel day. Edinburgh to York on LNER .. 15 carriages, almost all full. Then a much shorter Trans-Pennine Express train to Manchester. Passed places I recognise from @Mambo's part of the world .. the Northern Ballet building at Leeds, for one. 

From Manchester Victoria to Peter's Square where I'm staying. Found the Art Gallery (in extra). A couple of interesting exhibits, one of glass, tea and coffee sets, and a few locally made oak chairs; the other of mostly men's clothes from different eras, including some very recent ones.
