Marsh Harrier #21

A perfect spring day (apart from the hours delay on the M6 first thing).
With Bitterns booming, Bearded Tits pinging, Cetti's Warblers calling, Water Rails squealing and the fluttering of several yellow Brimstones it really felt like spring in the warm sunshine at Leighton Moss.
We saw or heard 50 different species and watched Marsh Harriers soaring above the reedbed with ease.
We are just away for one night in the Ivy House, one of the HPB hotels and had a delicious evening meal.
Tomorrow we will go to Foulshaw Moss to see if the ospreys are about before heading back home via LM to see if we can spot a bittern and not just hear one. I'm not holding out much hope but it will be a fun day I'm sure. This is how retirement days should be - relaxed, fun and full of sunshine!
