TINY TUESDAY - TINY CROSS - BIG IMPACT

This tiny glass cross was given to us by very dear friends, both of whom died several years ago.  We treasure it, not only because it brings back memories of friends who are no longer with us, but also because it symbolises our faith and reminds us how Jesus died for us on a cross and after all, this is Holy Week.

If you don’t believe, that’s fine, but if you do, you will understand.

We’re hoping to go out for a coffee this afternoon;  we had intended to go yesterday, but I didn’t feel up to it, but as it’s such a lovely day it seems a shame to waste it so after Mr. HCB has got his energy back after his long walk this morning, we will be off - my first outing apart from visiting my GP for sometime.

WHY IS EASTER CALLED EASTER?

The English word Easter, which parallels the German word Ostern, is of uncertain origin. It likely derives from the Christian designation of Easter week as in albis, a Latin phrase that was understood as the plural of alba (“dawn”) and became eostarum in Old High German. The Latin and Greek Pascha (“Passover”) provides the root for Pâques, the French word for Easter.

P.S.  The theme for Tiny Tuesday is “Circles” and the only one in this shot is a half circle on which the tiny 3” cross is standing - but it’s there.
