Sanderling

A walk around the beach and dunes at Churchill Barrier #4 between Burray and South Ronaldsay. I hoped to see my first wheatear of the spring, a few have been spotted, and I did see one at a distance, but lost it before I could get a shot. Small numbers of sanderling, turnstone, ringed plover etc. A nice great northern diver was in the bay and I thought it might float beachward. It did. (extra)
