Ceol, Òrain agus Dannsa Ceum
A great evening of music, songs and step dancing at Sabhal Mòr this evening. It was wonderful to hear Christine Primrose sing along with Jenny Duncan and to see Keri Skye dance to music played by Ronan Martin, Angus MacKenzie and Ines Watson.
Keri is the tutor on the step dancing course I’m doing and it was great to see her dance steps we’ve been practicing - albeit at a much faster speed. We are also lucky to have Ronan with us “fad an latha, a h-uile latha” (all day, every day) providing accompanying to our steps. It is a real treat, especially as there is only four of us in the class. I’m really enjoying the step dancing - lots of fun (and good exercise!).
There is also an opportunity to practice my Gaelic chatting to other students at mealtimes and in the nightly conversation circles. I also went to “Highland Hustle” last night - a fusion of Zumba with Country Dance moves - great fun.
