Coriander Coriandrum sativum, also known as cilantro, Chinese parsley or dhania. The name coriander comes from the Latin coriandrum which means, well, coriander! Coriander is an annual herb native to regions spanning from southern Europe and North Africa to southwestern Asia. It is a soft, hairless plant that grow up to to 50 cm in height.
All parts of the plant are edible, but the fresh leaves and the dried seeds shown here are the parts that are most often used in cooking and in traditional medicine.
