Internet Delivery
Today I have blipped Craig advancing up the drive with a part load of shopping that I ordered online last week. 5 minutes before there was a very heavy downpour and I began to think that maybe I'd have to abandon my planned photo shoot! However it passed quickly and you can see the sun is again splitting the heavens.
I'm pleased to have captured this event because having my groceries delivered is the best thing since sliced bread! My previous orders are held online and it takes perhaps 10/15 minutes to reorder every fortnight or so, and check out any special offers for the store cupboard. Waitrose provides free delivery (over £50) and this applies any day, unlike some of the opposition. I don't know why more people don't use this facility, as it would stop the building of more and more of these supermarkets which bring more cars on to the roads, burning up fuel and creating pollution. It's the ecological way to shop!
Also I've maintained a pattern this week of showing the people who provide services that make my life better and with whom I interact regularly. Their attention allows me to get on with doing the things I like to do, and I'm grateful to them all.
Tomorrow I'm heading by car and overnight boat journey to the most northerly island in the country - a gorgeous remote place called Unst where my father was born and grew up on a croft. The croft house is still there and has been beautifully restored by my cousin who's a professional builder - see picture in my Blipfolio. The drystane dyke was originally put up by my very practical father. You may spot the free-ranging Shetland ponies on the hill behind. Unst is part of the Shetland Isles and offers many photo opportunities from fantastic sunsets at midnight (weather permitting!) to phenomenal bird life, ponies and seascapes. I can't wait!
