Its not about the photo, its about the message
I'm really having problems trying to work out what the hell transformed two ordinary young men into two - what? passionate? crazy? psychopathic? mad? - young men who ran over another young man on a busy London street, mid afternoon, then proceeded to hack him to death, making no bones about the fact that they wanted to be filmed whilst doing it.
I can't begin to imagine what the families of these three young men must be thinking, going through.
We can not, and must not, allow the extreme actions of crazy people destroy our society no matter which faction the come from: fascist, islamicist - whatever.
Mariane Pearl, widow of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl had this to say in her book 'A Mighty Heart':"The task of changing a hate-filled world belongs to each one of us. It's time for people to represent themselves and the values on which they stand".
I guess that partly explains why I feel so passionately about things like 'We are Norwich', committed to making our city safe for everyone to be proud of who they are.
I wouldn't normally dream of posting a 'photo of a photo' but today this photo, which I took back in November when over 1,000 people took to the streets of Norwich to demonstrate against a visit by the far-right English Defence League, just seemed appropriate.
