Day trip
Up early, collected our daughter and the boys and on the road to Oxford (around an hours drive). We had decided to visit the Oxford Natural History Museum - what a great place.
Park and ride (£5.40 for two adults and two children under 16), tickets purchased for parking and the bus, bus arrived within 5 minutes. Short travel into the city centre and then a 12 minute walk to the museum. It is also the site of the Pitt Rivers Museum.
The boys loved it, there is so much to see there and patience is not one of their strengths so a re-visit probably on the cards. Very tactic displays, great presentation and something for all ages.
We had lunch outside (weather was good), lovely hot drink for the adults and boys able to run off some steam. Treated the boys mid afternoon to a hot chocolate drink. They finally loved spending their pocket money in the shop - Caleb liked the glow in the dark stickers and Austin chose a bag of dinosaurs.
As we left, it was beginning to rain, just spitting. Didn’t have to wait long for the bus back to the car fortunately, and a good journey home. Austin fell asleep on the way home ….
A great day had by all.
