On this date in 1933, because of the prohibition, it is recorded that the people lined up around the block at the doors of their favorite bars and pubs as they prepared to imbibe the legal brews for the first time in 13 years. Since that night, this day has been referred to as 'New Beer's Eve,' a precursor of 'New Beers Day.'
