Ever used the Scotsman Steps, which link Edinburgh’s Market St and North Bridge above? https://www.scotsman.com/whats-on/arts-and-entertainment/story-scotsman-steps-594735

It’s evolved from being functionally grand, to pishily revolting and now to positively arty… but somehow still reminds me of a cross between a doocot and a cell block from the outside.
Busy old day in the capital, ending with an unusually helpful rail conductor who checked my slumbering state at journey’s end. (I have woken up in cold, dark sidings before now!)
