City Signs #2

Definitely a few April showers today but managed to avoid them, even the one with accompanying thunder and lightning.
My research tells me that this street has had this name since at least the 12th century, although with a different spelling. It was as you would expect the location of ironmongers, although by the 16th century most of them had moved to Thames St.
The plaque on the right of the photo commemorates Thomas Beckett who was said to be born here
